About Us

Soroptimist International of El Centro, founded in 1940, has been empowering women and girls in the Imperial Valley for over 80 years. As part of Soroptimist International of the Americas, we share a global mission: to provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

Through scholarships, mentorship, and career exploration programs — including our signature Live Your Dream Awards, Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls, and the STEAM WARS & Beyond Conference — we break down barriers and open doors to brighter futures.

When women and girls are educated, entire communities thrive. From inspiring a young girl to become an engineer to helping a single mother complete her degree, our mission is simple: invest in dreams, change lives.

Investing in Dreams
is Best for Women - and for Everyone
