SI EL CENTRO PROGRAMS

Every year Soroptimist International of El Centro distributes more than $3,000 in education grants to women in the Imperial Valley.

Over half our recipients are survivors of domestic violence, trafficking or sexual assault. Most of the women have overcome obstacles such as teen pregnancy, poverty, homelessness and drug or alcohol addiction. We make it our mission to give these women the chance to further their education and start over so they can continue their journey to completing their education and have a chance to start the career of their dreams.

The awards that are given out go to offset the costs that are associated with their plans to achieve their higher education including but not limited to transportation, housing, children, food, tuition and so on.
